HAPPY 2015 EVERYONE!
Yes, I know it's already been 2015 for two weeks, but it has taken me that long to get back into the swing of things. The 2014/2015 holidays were fantastic - we spent it in Cape Town with our families. I've uploaded some of the pics on twitter. (@carmen_botman78)
So what does this year have in store, then? 2014 was certainly jam-packed. You may have noticed this blog page having somewhat of an existential crisis, with a new look practically every week. Each time I think I've found 'the one,' I change my mind a few days later again - so please bear with me. There are a few other changes I am planning to make a well. Firstly, to not place too much pressure on myself with regards to writing. I will be working less as from next month (in my day job), so I will have more free time. I am hoping that the words will come - I don't want to have to force it. (Fingers crossed!) Strangely, with more time on my hands, I am planning on taking on less projects. I would much rather have a few well-finished projects than many unfinished projects. The latter is really not satisfying. And while I admire a bunch of writers out there (both Indie and Traditional), I will no longer force myself to complete tasks (i.e. novels) in the same manner in which they do. I've found that it causes undue stresses and pressure.
So with that, I invite 2015 in and I am looking forward to an enjoyable year ahead. I hope you'll share it with me.
NOTE: In March I'll be attending the first ever SAIR BookFest (South African Indie Rocks). I'll let you know more about it right here.
